How to Make Easy Paper Plate Fish Crafts For Kids:
Step 1: Use your pencil to draw your fish fins and tail onto the back of one of your paper plates. You can also download my paper plate clownfish template if you prefer cutting out and tracing pre-made pieces for your paper crafts.
Step 2: Paint your fin & tail pieces as well as the back of your other paper plate.
Step 3: Let your paper plates dry for 30 minutes.
Step 4: Once fully dry, cut out your fin and tail pieces.
Step 5: Position the fins and tail to your fish body and glue them on using your quick-drying craft glue.
Step 6: Paint the details onto the body of your fish and let it dry for 30 minutes.
We painted black and white stripes on our clown fish, but you can decorate your fish any way you want. If you’re working with younger kids, it may be easier to use sponge brushes with different shapes since they’re easier for small hands to grip.
Step 7: Last but not least, glue on the googly eye and cut a slit in the paper plate for the mouth.
We were running low on large sized googly eyes, so my son got creative and borrowed one from an old birthday card! (sorry grandma)
